As a Mobile Viking, we know you rely on your mobile to browse the internet. And sometimes that extra bit of speed would be welcome. Finally, we can tell you more about our move to 3G.
The best news is that for Mobile Vikings, 3G will be available at the same price as 2G! That’s right, you will still get 1GB of data for free with each top-up of 15€. It will not matter if you use this data bundle on a 2G or a 3G connection. Contrary to what some people suggested, there will not be a price increase.
The second announcement is that KPN Wholesale has decided to let Mobile Vikings be among their first customers to switch to 3G! Yesterday, Base users already made the switch to 3G. For other parties (like Mobile Vikings), there are more technical systems involved that still need some testing before we can switch. The current planning indicates that the switch to 3G for Mobile Vikings will be soon, depending on how the current tests evolve. But we have good hopes and are happy with our own test results so far!
We will let you know when 3G will be activated for Mobile Vikings. You will not have to do anything, since your phone will switch to 3G automatically when 3G coverage is available, if your phone is 3G enabled. It is not advised to try to force your phone to connect on 3G today, since the connection will not work.

Wed 10 Feb 2010 22:58Op de dag dat MV de upgrade activeert, zal aan alle gebruikers een duidelijk teken gestuurd worden. op de bovenkant van uw scherm zullen automatisch de tekens 3 en G weergegeven worden :-p
Het komt eraan mensen, en ik zit er stiekem ook op te wachten, maar we zien wel wanneer het er is. Ikzelf woon in Ieper, dus ik zal waarschijnlijk langer moeten wachten dan sommigen onder jullie, maar er zijn ergere dingen. Vergeet niet dat wij allen bij een provider zijn waar we gesoigneerd worden.
Ik hoop dat Mobile Vikings lang kan blijven zoals het nu is. Goedkoop, betrouwbaar en klantvriendelijk. Noem eens één andere provider die hetzelfde aanbiedt voor dezelfe prijs en waar je dan nog eens binnen het uur een persoonlijk antwoord krijgt als je 'n mailtje stuurt.

Mon 15 Feb 2010 11:09Hier in Antwerpen centrum op dit moment nog geen 3G... Hopelijk wordt later op de dag alsnog de switch gemaakt maar ik heb zo'n vermoeden dat we nog even zullen moeten wachten op 3G.
