22 Oct Tethering hack for iPhone available!
As you all know, Apple decided tethering should be disabled with the iPhone upgrade to firmware 3.1. Not only users of jailbroken iPhones, but also those with officially unlocked phones were affected by this decision and were not happy to say the least.
We have addressed Apple about this and we’ve asked our users to do the same, but so far, we’ve been unsuccessful trying to convince Apple to reconsider their resolution.
Now, did they really think hackers wouldn’t find a way around it?
It’s taken them about a month, but they’ve done it. On iphoneclub.nl you’ll find a Dutch manual and on mac4ever.com there’s another manual if you prefer reading in French.
You do need some experience with jailbroken phones. It’s not the easiest procedure, so be warned and read the whole process closely before attempting the maneuver.
Luckily iFoneguide delivered for the less savvy jailbreakers too. They’ve assembled all the steps in one simple application (patch), which you can install from Cydia (read more on iphoneclub.nl).
Of course, we’re aware this is no solution for those who do not wish to jailbreak their iPhone. We’re still looking for a solution for you guys…

Wed 04 Nov 2009 16:17Het is eigenlijk AT&T in de US die zeiden dat tethering niet meer mocht, hun netwerk kon dit niet aan, apple zegt braafjes jaja natuurlijk, zonder er op te letten dat de hele wereld die dan niet meer kan, mijnen iphone is verkocht op ebay, veel te veel bemoeienissen van apple, je kan gewoon niet meer doen met je gsm wat je wil, stel je voor.

Sun 20 Dec 2009 11:54I use MyWi on my iPhone, it creates a wifi network that shares your Edge connection.
It works with the USB cable and Bluetooth too.
But it costs 9,99$ on the Cydia store. There's a way to have it for free -> google -

Iemand evervaring met non-jailbroken 3gs iphone ?? voor tethering??

Sat 23 Jan 2010 13:18I am using the application pdanet (freeware) to my jailbroken iphone and the tethering to the Imac is working very good and surprisingly faster than I was expecting.

Tue 09 Feb 2010 17:27Inderdaad, indien de optie na update 3.1.3 toch niet zou verschijnen: restore uitvoeren in iTunes. Je mag hierbij de ipcc file van Mobile Vikings NIET installeren want deze blokkeert blijkbaar dan de tethering-optie.
